Beatniks(比特尼克,披头族):
垮掉的一代;奇装异服言行乖僻的人

Beatnik,amediastereotype(典型形象)ofthe1950sandearly1960s,wasasynthesisofthemoresuperficialaspectsoftheBeatGenerationliterarymovementofthe1950sintoviolentfilmimagesandacartoonishmisrepresentationofthereal-lifepeopleandthespiritualityfoundinJackKerouac'sautobiographicalfiction.Kerouacspokeoutagainstthismisdirecteddetourfromhisoriginalconcept.
Kerouacintroducedthephrase"BeatGeneration"in1948,generalizingfromhissocialcircletocharacterizetheunderground,anti-conformist(反传统主义者,反墨守成规者)youthgatheringinNe"Beat"camefromunderworldslang(底层俚语)—theworldofhustlers(骗子、妓女、皮条客),drugaddicts(瘾君子)andpettythieves,。
"Beat"wasslangfor"beatendown"ordowntrodden,buttoKerouac,italsohadaspiritualconnotationasin"beatitude".(至福、真福).
