Earlyinlateeighteenthcentury,aftertheBritishsuccessfullyfinishedindustrialrevolutionforthefirsttime,corporateenterprisehasfullydevelopedinmodernsense.However,atthattime,theconceptofcorporatesocialresponsibilitydidnotappeared,ethicalbehaviorofcorporatesocialresponsibilityinpracticewerelimitedtopersonalethics.Thetheoryoftheinvisiblehand"byAdamSmithisthoughttobethestartingpointofcorporatesocialresponsibility.Accordingtoclassicaleconomicstheory,iftheenterpriseasfaraspossiblemakethemostefficientuseofresourcestoprovideproductsandservicesforthesocialneeds,andpricetheirproductsorservicewhichconsumersarewillingtopayforit,inthatwayenterpriseshaveaccomplishedtheirownsocialresponsibility.

Astimewentby,awarenessofcorporatesocialresponsibilitygrewamongpublicandmadeanintangiblesuperviseforenterprises.Currentthoughtsindicatethat,societyisbeginningtoappreciatemorefullythattheremustbemorelimitationstoourconsumptionofnaturalresourcesandbusinessactivitiesmusttaketheirimpactonenvironment,societyandeconomicsintoconsideration.ThatSelf-interestprotectivebehaviorcombinedwithmarketcompetitionwillprotectpublicinterest,isnowbecomelessandlesstenableatsuchcompetitiveandfreemarket,whichisseemedtobechallengefortheorthodoxy(Neimark,MK,1995).Carrollexplainsthatcorporatesocialresponsibilityinvolvestheconductofbusinessandthusitiseconomicallyprofitable,lawobeying,ethicalandpublicsupportive(DavidBevan,RobertAnnopWynne,2011).Thepassagefocusoncorporatesocialresponsibility,orCSR,andmakeanargumentthatcorporatesocialresponsibilityprovidesgreaterbenefitstotheorganizationthanitdoestosocietyandotherstakeholders.Firstly,itwillbeabriefexpressionaboutthedefinitionofcorporatesocialresponsibility,includinganexpressionaboutwhatkindofsocialresponsibilityenterprisesshouldtake.Followingthis,itwillbeacomparisonbetweenhowCSRimpactontheorganizationitselfandthesocietyoranyotherstakeholders.Finally,recommendationsonbuildingcorporatesocialresponsibilityandfinalconclusionabouthowcorporatesocialresponsibilityprovidesgreaterbenefitstotheorganizationthanitdoestosocietyandotherstakeholderswillbegiven.

Currentthinkingforcorporateresponsibilityhasarisenconcernbypublicduetoitscombinationoftheinstrumentalandethicalwithinorganizationallife(MaxBaker,JohnRoberts,2012).Corporatesocialresponsibilitymeansthatenterprisesshouldnotonlybearlegalliability,butalsoundertakeresponsibilityofemployees,consumers,communitiesandenvironment.Corporatesocialresponsibilityrequiresenterprisesnottoregardtheprofitastheonlytarget,buttofocusonhumanvaluesinproductionprocessandemphasisonthecontributiontoconsumer,environmentandsociety.Inotherwords,definitionofcorporatesocialresponsibilityincludetheconceptthatcorporationshavedutytowardsociety,notjustfortheireconomicorfinancialresponsibilitiestoshareholders(MSSchwartz,DavidSaiia,2012).
Firstofall,enterpriseshouldundertakeandcarryouteconomicresponsibility,whichisthecornerstoneofcorporatesocialresponsibility.Byanalyzingsocialresponsibilityofenterprise,itcanbeviewedfromtwoperspectives:
efficiencyandinefficiency.Intermsofundertechnologicalcondition,enterprisesofhighefficiencycanobtainhigherreturnsandpayments,andmaintainabettersustainabledevelopment.Therefore,fromtheefficiencyperspectiveundertechnologicalenvironment,corporatesocialresponsibilityinvolvessalesrevenue,netprofitandothereconomicindicators,alsoregardedasenterpriseeconomicresponsibility,whichisthecoreandmostbasiclevelofcorporatesocialresponsibility.Withouteconomicresponsibility,thecorporatesocialresponsibilityjustlikeaPyramidcollapseatthefirstblow.
Secondly,enterprisesshouldsetanexampleinbeingwell-regulatedbylaws,regulations,governmentpoliciesincludingenvironmentalprotectionlaw,consumerlawandlaborprotectionlaw.Accomplishallthecontractualobligations,andbehaveinintegrityandlegitimatewhendoingbusiness,etc.Boostuptheawarenessofwell-regulatedandobligatedamongalltheemployeesandtheircommunity.
Thirdly,ethicalresponsibility,whichisthesocialexpectationsforenterprise.Enterprisesshouldtryeveryeffortnottomakenegativeeffectsonthesocietybyprovidingproductsandservicesinlowqualityorbeyondethicalregulation.Thus,enterprisesshouldAcceleratetheoptimizationandupgradeitsindustrialtechnologyandstructure,vigorouslydevelopenvironmentalfriendlyenterprise,trytomakecontributionforenvironmentalprotectionandsocialstability.
Finally,itistheresponsibilityofcharityforenterprises.Theinvestmentinpublicwelfareofenterpriseshelpstoimprovethelivingstandardandeducationconditionsofthepovertypopulationorvulnerablegroups,orhelpareastorecoverafterbeingsufferedingreatdisaster,andtheydidgetthebenefits.Atthesametime,enterprisesobtainlotsofbenefitsbyinvestingsuchpublicwelfare.Theeffectofpublicwelfarebehavior,basicallyspeaking,isakindofsoftadvertisementwhichiseasytobenaturallyacceptedbypublic,orpotentialcustomers.Enterpriseswhobearandundertakeresponsibilityisrecognizedtobenefitboththesocietyandtheorganizationitself.

Mostassessmentaboutorganizationperformancefocusonwhichcompaniesmadethemostprofit,howrapidtheydevelop,andwhohavethebiggestgoldernparachutes(David,Bejou,2011).However,withthehighlydevelopmentofglobalization,businessesarenowinvolvedinwiderpublicissuesthoroughthewholeworld.Asaresult,thismeansthatthemorepowerfulcorporationsgrow,themoreresponsibilitythattheyshouldbearcontinuesgrowing,too.Andinanotherwords,fromacriticalviewcorporatesocialresponsibilitynowbecomesaneffectivepracticetoenhancethepowerofcorporationsinlargesize(SubhabrataBobby,Banerjee,2008).Asintangibleassetsandcorporatereputationarebecomingincreasinglycriticalcomponentsofbusinesssuccess,thisinevitabletrendsrequirethatbusinessstrategyshouldinvolveethicsandsustainabilityapproaches.
