摘要:
Thereceiverthermalperformancedirectlyaffectstheefficiency,reliabilityandsafetyoftheentiresolartowerpowersystem.Amodelcombiningradiation,convectionandconductionheattransfermodeswasdevelopedtomodela1MWmoltensaltcavityreceiverwithdeterminedbasicdesignparameters.Thecoupledheattransfermodelwasusedtopredictthereceiver'ssteady-stateefficiency,temperaturedistributionandheatlossesforvariousflowlayoutsandreceiveraperturelipsizes.
Theresultsshowthatthefractionofreflectiveloss(18.78%)isthelargestinallheatlosses,followedbyradiativeandconvectiveheatlosses,withconductionheatlossesasthesmallestpartwhichisusuallynegligible.Theheatlossdistributioniscloselyrelatedtotheexternaltubetemperaturefieldinthecavityreceiverandthespecificstructureofthereceiver.10cmlipsonboththetopandbottomofthereceiveraperturereducedthereflectiveheatlossby1%.Theresultsfordifferentflowlayoutsshowthatcenter-sideflowlayouthasthebesttemperaturehomogeneity,withlesspossibilityofoverheatinginthecentralarea.This,however,comesattheexpenseofincreasedirreversibilitiesanddecreasedefficiency.Thesides-centerflowlayouthastheworsttemperaturehomogeneity,butthereceiverefficiencyis2.06%higher.Theseresultsprovideausefulreferencefordesigningandoptimizingcavityreceivers.(C)2014ElsevierLtd.Allrightsreserved.

Weinvestigatethedynamicthermalperformanceofamolten-saltpacked-bedthermalenergystorage(TES)systemusingcapsulesfilledwithhigh-temperaturephasechangematerial(PCM),whichisidentifiedasapromisinglow-costTESsystemforconcentratingsolarpower(CSP)plants.Atransienttwo-dimensionaldispersion-concentric(D-C)modelismodifiedtoaccountforthephasechangeprocesswithincapsulessoastodeterminethetemperaturedistributionandphasechangefrontwithineachcapsule.Usingthemodel,detailedcharacteristicsofheattransferbetweenmoltensaltandthepackedPCMcapsulesareinvestigated,andaparametricsensitivityanalysisisprovided.Duringthedischargingprocess,differentvariationtrendsarefoundforthecapsuletemperatureduetotheexistenceoftheisothermalsolidificationprocess.Asaresult,generallythereexistsaquasi-isothermalregionandtwothermoclineregionsforthemolten-salttemperaturealongthetankheight,andthemolten-salttemperatureattheoutletalsoshowsaquasi-isothermalperiod,duringwhichthemolten-saltoutlettemperatureisveryclosetothephasechangetemperature(PCT)ofPCM.ItisalsofoundthattheeffectivedischargingefficiencyofthesystemcanbeincreasedbyincreasingthePCT,decreasingthemolten-saltinletvelocityordecreasingthecapsulediameter.Theseresultsprovidesuggestionstooptimizethedesignandoperationalparametersforthesystemwithinpracticalconstrains.(C)2014ElsevierLtd.Allrightsreserved.

摘要:
Themostcriticalproblemsforthemoltensaltsolarpowerplantareprotectingagainstfreezingandpreheatingoftheflowpipesandequipments.Acandidatewaytosolvetheseproblemsiscoldfilling.Inthisstudy,thedynamicprocessofmoltensaltcoldfillingintoareceivertubewassimulatedbycombiningthevolumeoffluidmethodandtheenthalpymethod.Thedetailedmechanismofmeltingsolidificationandtheevolutionofthepressuredropalongthetubeweredemonstrated.Theinfluenceofcoldfillingonthetemperatureacrossthetubewallwasanalysedaswell.Theresultsindicatethatalowerpressuredropcanbeobtainedbyincreasingthesalttemperatureandtheinitialtubetemperature,andthatanoptimalvelocityisrequiredtogetminimumpressuredrop.Thetemperaturedifferencebetweentheexternalandinternalsurfacesofthetubewallincreaseswiththefillingvelocityandthefillingtemperaturewhereasdecreaseswiththeinitialtubetemperatureandtheheatfluxontheexternalsurface.Alargefillingvelocityandahighfillingtemperaturethatresultsinlargetemperaturedifferenceacrossthewallofthetubeshouldbeavoided.Thisstudygivespracticalreferencetotheapplicationofcoldfillinginmoltensaltreceiver.(C)2014ElsevierLtd.Allrightsreserved.
