一、教学目的:
《综合英语2》是英语专业本科生的专业基础课,是一门训练学生综合英语技能,对学生的听、说、读、写、译,尤其是阅读理解、语法与基础写作能力进行训练的课程。
本课程通过阅读和分析内容相对广泛的材料,主要是小的议论文或是一些含有文化背景的文章,帮助学生熟悉基本的语法知识、发展一定的读写的能力、形成一定的语言感觉,并在一定程度上训练学生的听说的能力,给学生提供良好的英语学习的氛围。
本课程设置在英语专业本科教学基础阶段的第二年,突出读、写能力的培养,但不忽视听和说,通过一年的教学使学生具有较强的听、说、读、写的能力以及基本的翻译能力,为高年级阶段的学习打下扎实的基础。
二、教学要求:
要求学生通过课堂学习及其它途径认知词汇达6000~7000左右,并能正确而熟练地运用其中的3500~4500个及其最基本的搭配;能在一般社交场合与英语国家人士交谈,做到正确表达思想,语音、语调自然,无重大语法错误,语言基本得体;熟练掌握主语从句、同位语从句、倒装句和各种条件句,初步掌握句子之间和段落之间的衔接手段等;能读懂英语国家报刊杂志上的社论和国际新闻报道、难度相当于SonsandLovers的英语文学原著,要求在理解的基础上抓住要点,并能运用正确观点评价思想内容;能在30分钟内写出长度为150-200个单词的短文,内容切题,结构严谨,条理清楚,语法正确,语言通顺,表达得体,并能根据提示在10分钟内写出长度为60个左右单词的应用文;能独立完成课程中的各种翻译练习,要求译文忠实于原文,表达流畅。
