1.0.0GENERAL
Thebiddersarerequestedtonotethatonlythemajorequipmentarementionedinthissection.Anyotherequipment/systemnotspecificallymentionedbelowbutmentionedelsewhereinthespecificationsandanyotherequipment/systemessentialforsmoothandefficientfunctioningofthesystemshallbeconsideredinthescopeofthebidderatnoextracost.
1.1.0Thisspecificationcoversthetechnicalaspectsofdesign,manufacture,testingatworksandtransportationtosite,supervisionoferection,testingandcommissioningoffullyautomaticROPlantconsistingof2streams,eachof20m3/h(Netoutput)asminimumplantcapacityexcludingregenerationsystemconsumptionandauxiliariesandsemiautomaticDMPlantconsistingof2streams,eachof6m3/h(Netoutput)asminimumplantcapacityexcludingregenerationsystemconsumptionandauxiliariesasdetailedinthescopeofworkgivenunderthisspecification.Thestatedflowratesareonthebasisofcontinuousoperationofbothstreamsandtheminimumrequired.Thecapacitiesasstatedaboveareminimumandshallbeadequatetomeettherequirementsoftotalplantmakeupwaterrequirementsof2x25MW.
TheappropriatecapacitybreakdownoftheROblockisasunder:

(ii)6m3/hr(netoutput)each-DMwater.
Capacityofsofteningplantshallalsobesufficienttomeetthecleaningrequirementoftwonos.ofaircooledcondenser
1.2.0Supplyandservicesshallberenderedinconformitywithprovendesignprinciples,takingintoaccountthecurrenttechnology.Therequirementsofthecontractmustbefulfilledinitsentirety.
1.3.0Thesupplyandservicesshallberenderedinclusiveofallappliancesandinterconnectingarrangementswithothersuppliesneededforproperandreliablecontinuousoperationandforsatisfactorymaintenanceandrepair.

2.1.0General
Thedesigncriteria&designwateranalysisoftheROPlantisasmentionedinthiscontractspecification.
Thefeedwateristakenfromrawwaterreservoir.RequisiteAlumandPolymersareaddedbeforeclarifier.Thechlorinatedrawwatershallthenbesuitablypre-treatedpriortofeedingtotheROunit.TheROpreTreatmentsectionshallconsistofChemicaldosing,ClarifierandMultigradefilters(MGF).Thesilica&turbiditylevelinthefeedwatershallbereducedbyclarification&filtration.Thefiltersshallbebackwashedafter20hoursofservicecycle.(Duringfilterbackwash,theROplantwillbeoutofservicemode).Thefilteredwatershallthenbede-chlorinatedwithACFandstand-bySodiummeta-bi-sulfitedosing.Thede-chlorinatedROfeedwateristhendosedwithHydrochloricAcid,tolowerthepHtoavoidanyscalingduetoCalciumCarbonateontheROmembraneelements.Tothefiltered&pHloweredfeedwater,antiscalantinaqueoussolutionisdosed(atabout5ppmdosagerate),topreventfoulingofROelementsbysaltprecipitation.Inthelaststageofpre-treatment,feedwaterpassesthroughmicroncartridgefilter(5MicronNominalrating-disposabletype)andultrafiltrationsystem,wherethefinesuspendedimpuritiesarekeptbelowlimitstoensurethatmembranesarenotclogged.
Themicroncartridgefiltersshallbeback-washedbythebackwashpumpsprovidedseparatelyusingwaterfromthebackwashwaterstoragetank.Ultrafiltrationsystemshallalsohavebackwashsystemandauxiliariesasperscopeofsupply.
Thecartridgefilterdischargeheadershallbeprovidedwithanon-lineOxidationReductionPotentialmeter(ORP)fordetectionofanyfreechlorineinthewater.IncaseofpresenceofanyfreechlorineinthefeedwatertoROthehighpressurepumpshallbetrippedimmediatelythroughinterlocks,topreventanyirreversibledamagetothemembraneelements.Alsoincase,thefeedpHtotheROgoesabovethesetvalue,thehighpressurepumpsshallbetrippedbyaninterlocksignalfromthepHindicator/transmitterprovidedatoutletofcartridgefiltertopreventtheoccurrenceofanyscaling.Anon-linetemperatureindicator(TI)shallalsobeprovidedtomonitorthefeedwatertemperature.
Thepre-treatedwaterispumpedbyhighpressurepumpwitharatedcapacityoftotheROmodule.InordertosafeguardtheROsystemalowpressureswitch(PS)isprovidedatthesuctionofhighpressurepumptoavoiddryrunningofthesame.Similarlytoavoidoverpressurisationofthesystem,highpressureswitch(PS)isprovidedatthedischargeofHPpump.Incaseofoccurrenceofanyoftheabovementionedabnormalities,thesystemistrippedautomatically.ThedissolvedsolidsinthewaterarereducedintheROsystem.
TheROplantshallalsoconsistofsetofcleaningsystem,consistingofcleaningtank,cleaningpump&cartridgefilter.Thecleaningsystemshallbeusedformembranecleaning,wheneverrequired.
TheproductwaterobtainedfromtheROsystemisthendegassedthroughaCommondegassertowersizedfor2x25MWwithadequatemarginforremovalofCO2.
Thedegassedwatershallbecollectedinpermeatewaterstoragetank.Alkalidosingshallbedoneatthedischargeofsoftenedwatertransferpumps.
ThedegassedwatercollectedinthepermeatewatertankshallbepumpedbyMBfeedpumps.MixedbedexchangershallprovidedforfinalpolishingofwatertorenderdesiredqualityofDMwater,whichshallbestoredintheDMwaterstoragetank.
MaterialofconstructionforpipingandvalvesforcompleteROblockandDMstreamshallbeconsideredinSS.
3.0.0SCOPEOFWORK
3.1.0General
ThescopeofworkcoveredinthisspecificationforROplantanditsauxiliariesshallincludebutnotlimitedtothedesign,fabrication,manufactureandassembly,testingandinspectionatmanufacturer'sworks,painting,packing&transportationtositeoftheitemslistedbelow.
