Thislongitudinalstudywasdesignedto(a)examinechangesinchildren'sdeliberatememoryacrossthe1stgrade;(b)characterizethememory-relevantaspectsoftheirclassrooms;and(c)explorelinkagesbetweenthechildren'sperformanceandthelanguagetheirteachersuseininstruction.Toexplorecontextualfactorsthatmayfacilitatethedevelopmentofskillsforremembering,107firstgraderswereassessed3timeswithabroadsetoftasks,whileextensiveobservationsweremadeinthe14classroomsfromwhichthesechildrenweresampled.Whentheparticipatingteacherswereclassifiedashighorlowintermsoftheir“mnemonicorientation,”inpartonthebasisoftheiruseofmetacognitiveinformationandrequestsfordeliberaterememberingduringinstructioninlanguageartsandmathematics,differenceswereobservedintheuseofmnemonictechniquesbythechildrenintheirclasses.Bytheendoftheyear,thechildrendrawnfromthese2groupsofclassroomsdifferedintheirspontaneoususeofsimplebehavioralstrategiesforrememberingandintheirresponsetotraininginmorecomplexverballybasedmnemonictechniques.

Close-rangephotogrammetryisbasedontheacquisitionofimagerytomakeaccuratemeasurementsand,eventually,three-dimensional(3D)photo-realisticmodels.Thesemodelsareaphotogrammetricproductperse.Theyareusuallyintegratedintovirtualrealityscenarioswhereadditionaldatasuchassound,textorvideocanbeintroduced,leadingtomultimediavirtualenvironments.TheseenvironmentsallowusersbothtonavigateandinteractondifferentplatformssuchasdesktopPCs,laptopsandsmallhand-helddevices(mobilephonesorPDAs).Inveryrecentyears,anewtechnologyderivedfromvirtualrealityhasemerged:
AugmentedReality(AR),whichisbasedonmixingrealandvirtualenvironmentstoboosthumaninteractionsandreal-lifenavigations.ThesynergyofARandphotogrammetryopensupnewpossibilitiesinthefieldof3Ddatavisualization,navigationandinteractionfarbeyondthetraditionalstaticnavigationandinteractioninfrontofacomputerscreen.
Inthispaperweintroducealow-costoutdoormobileARapplicationtointegratebuildingsofdifferenturbanspaces.High-accuracy3Dphoto-modelsderivedfromclose-rangephotogrammetryareintegratedinreal(physical)urbanworlds.Theaugmentedenvironmentthatispresentedhereinrequiresforvisualizationasee-throughvideoheadmounteddisplay(HMD),whereasuser’smovementnavigationisachievedintherealworldwiththehelpofaninertialnavigationsensor.AfterintroducingthebasicsofARtechnology,thepaperwilldealwithreal-timeorientationandtrackingincombinedphysicalandvirtualcityenvironments,mergingclose-rangephotogrammetryandAR.Thereare,however,somesoftwareandcomplexissues,whicharediscussedinthepaper.

HYDJET++isaMonteCarloeventgeneratorforsimulationofrelativisticheavyionAAcollisionsconsideredasasuperpositionofthesoft,hydro-typestateandthehardstateresultingfrommulti-partonfragmentation.ThismodelisthedevelopmentandcontinuationofHYDJETeventgenerator(LokhtinandSnigirev,EPJC45(2006)211).Themainprogramiswrittenintheobject-orientedC++languageundertheROOTenvironment.ThehardpartofHYDJET++isidenticaltothehardpartofFortran-writtenHYDJETanditisincludedinthegeneratorstructureasaseparatedirectory.ThesoftpartofHYDJET++eventisthe“thermal”hadronicstategeneratedonthechemicalandthermalfreeze-outhypersurfacesobtainedfromtheparameterizationofrelativistichydrodynamicswithpresetfreeze-outconditions.Itincludesthelongitudinal,radialandellipticfloweffectsandthedecaysofhadronicresonances.ThecorrespondingfastMonteCarlosimulationprocedure,C++codeFASTMC(Amelinetal.,PRC74(2006)064901;PRC77(2008)014903)isadaptedtoHYDJET++.Itisdesignedforstudyingthemulti-particleproductioninawideenergyrangeofheavyionexperimentalfacilities:
