BorninViennain1909,MiepGiesmovedtotheNetherlandsatage11.In1933,shebeganworkingforOttoFrankathistradingcompany.Atgreatrisktoherownsafety,shehelpedbringfoodtotheFranksandthefourotherswithwhomtheywerehidingfrom1942untiltheirdiscoveryandarrestin1944.
