THERESEARCHPROPOSALTEMPLATE

Thisdocumenthasbeensetuptoassiststudentsinpreparingthetextfortheirresearchproposal.ItisNOTintendedasadocumenttoguideyouthroughyourresearchproposaldevelopment,buttoassistyouinsettingouttheproposal,intermsoftextlayout,sectionheadingsandsub-sections.

TheResearchProposalisacompletedescriptionoftheintendedresearch,developedunderthesupervisionoftheassignedsupervisor.Throughthefullproposal,thestudentneedstodemonstrateconvincinglythatthestudywillmakeacontributiontoapublichealthissueorproblem.Thefullresearchproposalmustbebetween5and10pagesandshouldpresentthefollowing:

Howtousethistemplate:

ThetemplateprovidesALLthesections,headingsandsubheadingsthatyouwillrequireinyourproposal,aswellasthelineandparagraphspacing,pagebreaks,pagenumbering,referencingsystemandreferencingstyles.Youshouldsimplyeditthetextwhereappropriateandinsertyourowntextasperyourproposal,i.esimplytypeintothedocument.Donotattempttochangethestylesfortheheadingsorsubheadings,anddonotattempttousemorethanthreelevelheadings（i.eAmainheading,asub-headingandasub-sub-heading）.

WHENYOUAREDONE,DELETETHISFRONTINSTRUCTIONPAGEFROMYOURPROPOSAL

Ifyoufeelyouaresufficientlycomputerliterate,youcouldaddthistemplatetoyourTemplatesdirectoryinyourOfficesystemfiles.Thiswillallowyoutoselectthistemplateatanytimeinthefuturewhenyouprepareproposals.Todothis,gotothe“MenuBar”,selectFile>SaveAs…,whenthedialogboxappears,atthebottom,under“saveastype”,select“DocumentTemplate”.TheMSOfficeTemplatesdirectoryautomaticallyappears.Youcouldnameyourfile“ProposalTemplate”（whichshouldappearasadefaultinthedialogbox,atthebottom,under“SaveAs”）.YourtemplateisnowsavedintheC:

\DocumentsandSettings\User\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Templatesdirectory.

Whenyounextwishtousethistemplate,clickonFile>New,the“taskpane”thatappearsontherightsideofyourscreenwillpromptyoutouseatemplate,clickon“onmycomputer…”,andfromthedialogboxthatappears,selectyourtemplate“ProposalTemplate”.Thisbringsupthetemplatewithallitssavedfonts,paragraphsettingsetc.Onceagain,simplyinsertyourtext,andthistime,saveyourfilenormally,andNOTasatemplate!
