Themarkingmachineisusedformarkingsampleplatesattheupperside.Themarkingmachineisbasedonaframearrangement.Thecatileverconstructionislocatedbesidetherollertableoverthesampleplatformandismanuallyrotatable(90°
)inserviceposition.
Thesampleplatformgetsaplatefromtherollertableandmovesittomarkingposition.
Atthattimethemarkingmachineisalreadywaitinginmarkingpositionabovethesampleplatform.Theplateispositionedbythesampleplatform(+/-50mmfromthemiddleofthesampleplatform,and+/-10mmfromthefixedside).
Afterthe“markingstart”signalthemarkingheadgetsloweredtotheplatesurface.(checkedbyapositionunit)andmovesacrossforstamping(drivenbyacompactmodule).Duringmarkingthesampleplatetheplateispresseddownbytheframeofthemarkingheadtoholditsposition.
WhenstampingisfinishedthemarkingheadgetsliftedandthemachinePLCgivesthesignal“markingfinished”totheHostPLC.Thesampleplatformejectsthesampleandthemarkingmachinewaitsforthenextmarkingcycle.

Themarkingcharactersarebasedonadotmatrix.Theinclinedarrangementofthe9pinsheaddeterminesthecharacterheight.Aflatarrangementcausessmallcharacters,asteeparrangementcauseslargecharacters.
Thereforethemarkingofonelinecanbedonewithonlyonemovementoftheheadalongthemarkingline.Themovementiscontrolledbymicroprocessortechnology.
TheMX23headcanmark7x5DotMatrixin3lines.

TheSteelstructureconsistsofasupportthatcarriestheswivelarm.
Thepositionoftheswivelarm(marking/service)isfixedwithabracketandalimitstop.Toturnthemachineintoservicepositionreleaselockpinandturnitmanually90°
.
Alsothemaintenanceunit,thevalveunitandlimitswitches(swivelarm)arelocatedonthesupport.
Caution:
Inmarkingorservicepositionthemachinehastobemechanicallyfixedwiththelockpin.

Markingunit
Themarkingunitservesforpositioningthemarkingheadtothemarkingpositionsandmovesthemarkingheadacrossforstamping.
Thebaseplateisflangedwiththecantileverandguidestheverticalslidewithguiderailsandlinearbearingslidedrivenbyapneumaticcylinderwith500mmstroke.
Thecrossmovementofthetranversalslideisdrivenbyacompactmodulepoweredbyasynchronousservomotor,connectedwithaclutch.Thecompactmodulehasastrokeof900mm.Theendpositionsarecontrolledbyproximityswitches.
TheMX23Stampingheadismountedontheundersideofthetransversalslide.
Furtheracabledragchainandallnecessarylimitswitches/proximityswitchesarelocatedonthemarkingunit.

MX23Stampinghead
TheMX23(=23needles)Stampingheadconsistsofavalveblockandaguideunit.
Onthevalveblockare23pneumaticvalvesinstalled.Thismeansthateveryneedlewillbecontrolledbyaseperatevalve.
Thepneumaticvalvesarefixedwitha„Plugin“systemonthevalveblock.Aswellasthepneumaticconnectionandtheelectricalconnectionarerealisedbysimplepluggingthevalvesontotheblock.Thevalveblockitselfiselectricallyconnectedbyamultipoleplug.Thereforeitispossibletochangeavalvewithinafewminutes.
Theguideunit,consistingofguideblockandfrontplate,isscrewedontothevalveblockbyonly4screws.Thepneumaticconnectionwillbesealedbytwosealingplates.Thisdesignmakesitpossibletochangetheneedlesveryquickwithoutdismountingthevalveblock.
Thecompleteneedleconsistsofthreeparts,whichareassembledbypressing:

ThecompleteneedleisguidedintheguideblockbytheneedleholderandinthefrontplatebytheMX-Needle.Throughthebigdistancebetweenthetwoslidefacesagoodrunningqualityoftheneedlewillbereached.
TheMX23stampingheadisequippedwith23needles.Markingcanbecarriedoutina7x5DotMatrix.
Theinclinedarrangementofthe23nozzleheaddeterminesthecharacterheight.Aflatarrangementcausessmallcharacters,asteeparrangementcauseslargecharacters.
Duringmarkingthereturnpressureiscontinuousswitchedoninordertoguaranteeafastresettimeoftheneedle.
Oftenrepeatedstampingwithouthittingtheproductwillcausedamagesofthefrontplateandwillfurtherleadtobreakofneedleguide.

Thepositionunitismountedononesideofthemarkingunitandgivesasignalbyaproximityswitchwhentheverticalslideofthemarkingunitisinmarkingposition(touchingthesampleplate).
Theboltisguidedintheholdingbycompositeflangesleeveanddrivenbyacompressionspring.
Switchingadjustageisdonebyturningthescrewandfixingitwithnut.
