Theresearcherswerethenabletobringbackthememoryoftheshockbyactivating(激活)thecellsinwhichthememorieswerestored.Evenwhenthemicewereputintoanunfamiliarroom,theyshowedfearwhenthecellsassociatedwiththeshockwereactivated.
“Shorttermmemoriesseemtobenormalinorderofhours.Butforlongtermmemories,theseearlyAlzheimer’smiceseemtobedamaged,”saidtheleadresearcherDheerajRoy.“Directlyactivatingthecellsthatwebelieveareholdingthememoryhelpsthemgetitback.Thissuggeststhatitisindeedanaccessproblemtotheinformation,notthattheyareunabletolearnorstorethismemory.”
