Ashewasreadytowalkaway,thedoorslowly opened. “Whatdoyouwant?
” theoldman saidimpatiently. Thelittleboy wasveryafraidbuthehada quota(份额)to meetforschoolwithsellingthemagazines.Sohegotupthecourageandsaid,“Uh,sir,Iamsellingthesemagazinesanduh,Iwaswonderingifyouwouldliketobuyonefromme.”
Theoldmanjuststaredattheboywithoutaword.Theboy couldseeinsidetheoldman’shouseandsawthathe had dog figurines(小雕像)onthefireplacemantle.“Doyoucollectdogs?
