Studyafterstudybacksthisviewup.NeuroscientistsMaraMatherandNicoleLighthallfromtheUniversityofSouthernCaliforniastudiedthewaymenandwomenmakedecisionsandfoundthatintimesofstress,theyreactverydifferently.
Duringtheirstudy,whichinvolvedplayingavirtualgambling(赌博)game,theyfoundthatwhenthefemalesbecamestressed,theymadesmartdecisions-quittingwhiletheywereaheadortakingsafebets.Butwhenthemenbecamestressed,theydidtheopposite,riskingeverythingforaslimchanceofabigwin.
