本单元以一篇侦探小说TheMysteryoftheMoonstone为话题,旨在通过本单元的教学,使学生学会如何正确地给别人提出建议或忠告;
复习名词从句及复合宾语结构;
复习正式书信格式和非正式书信格式,掌握两者之间的异同点;
运用正确的格式书写书信。
1.1WARMINGUP部分提供了六幅图画,要求学生根据自己对每幅图画的分析和理解,用一两句话加以描述;
然后按照图画的顺序进行合理想象,简单描述六幅图画中所反映的故事情节。
1.2LISTENING是发生在Rachel生日晚会上的几段对话。
1.3SPEAKING第一部分要求学生根据提供的情景,编写关于Godfrey向
Rachel求爱遭到拒绝的一段对话;
第二部分要求讨论Rachel把theMoonstone放进衣柜抽屉里,第二天早上发现它不见了后故事中各个人物的反应。
1.4PRE-READIN(是对Reading的阅读前准备,要求学生通过回答问题进行交流,了解theMoonstone有关故事,并对以后的情节进行预测。
1.5READING是一篇侦探小说的故事梗概,围绕theMoonstone的来历、被盗、侦破展开叙述。
1.6POST-READIN要求学生根据课文回答所设计的问题,就SergeantCuff对有偷盗宝石嫌疑的几个重要人物分析的理由进行概括,并分组讨论同学们认为谁可能偷盗了宝石并说明理由。
