Abstract
Asamainpartofcars,driveaxlehousingsupportstheautomobilechassisandthecarriage,passesweightstothewheels.Meanwhile,theverticalforce,traction,brakingforceactingonthedrivewheelsarealsopassedtothesuspensionandtheframethoughtheaxlehousing;
therefore,itisplayingasbothloadingpartandtransmissionpart.Becausetheaxleisusedfrequentlyundercomplexconditions,theirqualityandpropertydirectlyaffecttheoverallperformanceofthevehicleanditsusedlife,sothedriveaxlehousingmusthavecharacteristicsofsufficientstrength,stiffnessandgooddynamic.Currentlythetraditionalmethodhasbeendifficulttomeettherequirementsofdriveaxlehousing,whilebecauseofitsmanyadvantages;
thefiniteelementmethodbecomesaneffectivewaytosolvetheproblem.

1Introduction

2Theresearchstatus
Duetothedevelopmentofcomputertechnology,expandingtheapplicationrangeofthefiniteelementmethod(fem),especiallyinthe1970s,somefamousautocompaniesbegantoapplythefiniteelementmethodtothedesignofautoparts,raisedahotwaveoffiniteelementmethod(fem)intheautomobilestructuredesign,suchas:
