TheIOEstudyalsofoundthatwhatpeoplechosetoreadasadultsmatteredasmuchashowoftentheyread．Thegreatestimprovementsbetweenages16and42weremadebyreadersof‘elegant’fictionssuchasBookerPrizewinningnovels．Andtheyfoundthatreadersofqualitynewspapers，includingonlineversions，mademoreprogressinvocabularythroughouttheirlivesthanthosewhoreadtabloids．
