Inanupcomingreport,GeorgeA.Bonannoandcolleaguesnotethatdisastersresultinextremepsychologicalharminaminorityofindividuals—lessthan30%ofsamplesexperienceseverelevelsofthesepsychologicalproblems.Justasthereareawiderangeofproblemsexperiencedfollowingdisasters,Bonannoandhisco-authorsobservetherearealsoanumberofoutcomepatterns.Somesurvivorswillexhibitchronicdysfunction(慢性功能障碍)butthemajoritywillgoontorecoverpsychologicalfunctionwithinafewmonthsoryears.
