引导条件状语从句的连词和词组有if,unless,once,as/solongas,so/asfaras,incase,provided(that),providing(that),suppose(that),supposing(that),given(that),assuming(that),oncondition(that)等。

LearningaboutAdverbialclauseofconcession(让步状语从句)
引导让步状语从句常用的连词有:
though(虽然),although(虽然),as(虽然),evenif(即使),eventhough(即使),whatever(无论什么),wherever(无论哪里),nomatterwh…(无论…)。
Nomatterwhoasksforadvice,sheisalwaysreadytohelp.不管谁向她请教,她总是乐于助人。

1.as引导的让步状语从句,有所不同,语序发生倒装。
注意下列句子。
Childasheis,heknowsalot.虽然他是个孩子,他懂得很多。
(表语child提前,而且冠词a省略)
MuchasIadmirehim,Icannotexcusehisfaults.虽然我很崇拜他,可我不能原谅他的错误。
(状语much提前)
Tryhardashewill,heneverseemsabletodotheworksatisfactorily.(谓语动词Try及副词hard提前)=Thoughhetrieshard,heneverseems…虽然他尽了努力,但他的工作总做的不尽人意。
2.当有though,although时,后面的从句不能有but,但是though和yet可连用
Althoughit'
sraining,theyarestillworkinginthefield.虽然在下雨,但他们仍在地里干活。
Maryisanicegirl,butshehasoneshortcoming.玛丽是一个好姑娘,但她有一个缺点。

3.让步状语从句中的省略。
Thoughcold,theoldmanstillworeavest.虽然天很冷,老人还是穿着一件背心。

ifnotbetterthan是插入语,可将其撇开,这时空白处要填aswellas才能与David相连接,D项在此不可用(so…as只能用于否定句)。
A、C两项皆少as,故答案为B。

观察题目,可知空白处要填一词与great合表“无论多大”意。
