TheEarthhasamagneticfieldarounditprotectingitfromradiationfromspace,andsomeanimalsseemtouseittogetasenseofwhereitsNorthandSouthpolesare.Forinstance,it’showbirdsknowwhichwaytomigrate.In2013,BurdapublishedastudyinthejournalFrontiersinZoologysuggestingdogshaveastronginternalcompass,too.Heandhisteamspenttwoyearswatching70dogspoopandpeeandrecordingwhichwaytheyfacedandhowstrongthemagnetic(磁的)fieldwas.
