Jazelle™Javahardwareaccelerator.TheMSM6246devicesupportsstreamingvideo,audio,still-imageandvideoencodinganddecoding,2Dand3Dgraphicsacceleration,andPIMapplication.

3.4.1Can’tdownloadfirmwareintoNANDFlash
Thedownloadprocesscanbecompletedin2steps:
1.Download“BOOTLOADER”bySuperTrace.
2.DownloadsoftwareviaUSBcable.
Ifyouarefailedtodownloadthe“BOOTLOADER”,youcanfollowthestepsbelow:
a.Firstofallyoushouldprovidea3.65Vpowerfortheboardviathetest-pointsbyaJTAGFixture.
b.Checkthecurrentconsumptionoftheboard.
a)Ifthecurrentissmallerthan20mAormuchlargerthan200mA,itindicatesthatthereissomethingwrongwithpowersupply.CheckthesolderingofpartsaroundPUMandanyothercomponentsinthepowersupplycircuit.Ifthecurrentconsumptionislagerthan1A,theremaybeashortcircuitsomewhereinVBUSorVbatcircuit,abrokenDC-DCisevenworse.
b)Ifthecurrentconsumptionisalittlelargerthan20mA(about20~30mA),itmeansthatthereissomethingwrongwiththeoutputofvoltageregulator.Youshouldmeasurethevoltageofthepowersourcebelow:
VREG_MSMC(1.2V),VREG_MSMC(1.8V),VREG_MSMP(2.6V),VREG_MSMA(2.6V),
VTXO(2.85V)andmakesurethevoltageatthecorrectlevel.Ifthereisanyproblem,pleasecheckoutandconformthereisn’twelddefect.
c)Ifthecurrentisverysmall,pleasecheckoutiftherearesomesealproblemswithPMUorD901.
d)Checktheconnecteronmainboardandupperboard,
IfyouarefailedtodownloadsoftwareviaUSBcable,youmayreferthefollowingsteps:
a)MakesurethedatacardcanbedetectedviaUSBport,ifitworkswellyoushouldfind2morecomportsinPC’sdevicemanager.Ifsuchcomportscan’tbedetected,youshouldmeasurethecurrentconsumptionfollowingthestepsmentioned,andespeciallypayattentiontothevariationofthecurrentconsumption,ifthecurrentvariesfromabout50mAto80mAandnotstaysatacertainvalueallthetime,itindicatesthesoftwareisrunning.Otherwise,thesoftwaremaynotbedownloadedcorrectlyornotrunswell.
b)MakesuretheconnectionofUSBportanddatacarddeviceissuitable.

4.1RFcircuit
RFcircuitincludes:
D101-104,D201-212,D401-404,D501,andothermatchingcircuits.
D501isthetransceiverIC.Therearethreefractional-Nsynthesizerswithon-chipVCOsandloopfilters.Integratedpowerdetectorandthermistor.SSBIinterfaceisusedforWCDMAtransmitpowercontrol,noTX_AGC_Adjpinneeded.
D210isaPowerAmplifierModule(PA)andusedtoamplifierRFsignal(UMTS2100),
D104isaPowerAmplifierModule(PA)andusedtoamplifierRFsignal(GSM850/900/1800/1900).
The50ohmimpedance-matchingcircuitisneededtominimumthelossofRFsignals.
D209(WCDMA2100)isthesawfilterfortransmitpath,itcanbeusedtoattenuatethesignaloutofthedesiredband.
D101istheantennaswitchmodulewhichcanswitchthedifferentbrandsignalbychangingthe4controlsignal.Themodulehassamereceiverandtransmitterpathforeachofthe9availablebands.SA101isRFtestconnectorformassproductiontest.
D212istheswitchofreceiveandtransmitforIMT.
4.2CommonRFMalfunction
4.2.1Nooutputpowerorlowoutputpower
WhenWM66_15cannotregisterinanyband,firstlyweshouldchecksoftwareandbackupQCNfilebyQPST,thendownloadthelatestsoftwareagainandrestorethelatestQCNfile,ifitstillcan’tregisterinanyband,youshouldremovetheshellandcheckthehardware.
a)Checkantennacarefullyandmakesurethedeckswitchweldedwellandtheantennaconnectortouchthepadinthemainboardwell.
b)CheckRFreceivingandtransmittingcircuit;
WecoulduseQRCTsoftwaretohelptoanalysistheproblem.Firstofall,weshouldinstallQPSTsoftware,connecttheboardtocomputerviaaUSBcable,thenopenQPSTconfiguration,ifyoufindanewdeviceinacertaincomportasshowninfig1,itmeanstheBBpartoftheboardrunscorrectlyandyoucancommunicatewiththecomputer.

Ifthereturnvalueisbelow3000000,youshouldchecktheweldoftheGSMreceivingcircuits.IfUEstillcan’tworkwell,somechipsneedtobechanged(especiallyD212).
IfUEstilldoesn’truncorrectly,thenfollowstepd;
d)CheckGSMtransmittingcircuit
SetQRCTasshowninFig6,selectthedesiredbandamong900/1800/1900,setchannelnumber,opentransmit(click“setTXon”),thensetAPCvalue,setaRXchannelof8960atthesameband,samechannelnumber,enternon-signalingmode,anduseRFcableconnecttestinstrumentwiththeboardsothatwecanseeoutputpower.TheAPCindicatetheleveloftheoutputpowerinGSMband,theoutputpowershouldbeabout33dBmwhenAPCissetto14000.
Click“setTXoff”,transmitterwillbeclosed.
Iftheoutputpowerisnotlowerthan33dBminGSMbandor30dBminDCS/PCSband,checktheGSMtransmittingcircuits.
IfUEstilldoesn’tworkwell,thenfollowstepe;

SetQRCTasshowninFig7,selectbandI,setchannel,selectLNArange,openWCDMAgeneratorofinstrument,connectinstrumentwiththeboardviaRFcable,settransmittingpoweroftheinstrumentat-74dbm,.Input-74indBmAGCatleftcolumn,clickthebutton,changedBmvalueintoAGCvalue(-128),thenclick“GET”,wecanobtainDVGAOFFSETvalueofthechannel.
Selectrange0,settransmitpowerofinstrumentat-74dbm,theDVGAoffsetvalueshouldbetween150and250.
Ifthevalueisbeyondtherange(150~250),weshouldcheckWCDMAreceivecircuit.
