INTRODUCTION
Thefundamentaltaskofuniversitiesistotrainqualifiedbuildersandreliablesuccessorsofthesocialistcausewithanall-rounddevelopmentofmorality,intelligence,physiqueandaesthetic.Alldepartmentsofuniversitiesincludinglogisticsshouldcarryouttheirworkbasedonthiscenter.TheCPC’s18thnationalcongressreportproposes,
Educationisthecornerstoneofnationalrejuvenationandsocialprogress.Weshouldinsistongivingprioritytoeducationaldevelopment,fullyimplementtheParty’seducationalpolicy,insistthateducationservestheconstructionofsocialistmodernizationandthepeople,takestrengtheningmoralityandfosteringtalentsasthefundamentaltaskofeducation,andtrainthesocialistbuildersandsuccessorswithall-rounddevelopmentofmorality,intelligence,physiqueandaesthetic.(TheCompilationofChineseCommunistParty,para.4,2012,p.32)
Thecompetitionamongcountriesintoday’sworldisthecompetitionofhumanresources.InthecircumstancewhenreinvigoratingChinathroughhumanresourcedevelopmenthasbecomethenationaldevelopmentalstrategy,universitystudents,asavaluablenationalhumanresource,arequasitalentsorpotentialtalents,andisthemainforceofthenationalhumanresources.Whetherthestudentscanbecomesocialistqualifiedbuildersandreliablesuccessorswithbothabilitiesandintegrityandanall-rounddevelopmentofmorality,intelligence,physiqueandaesthetic,isrelatedtothesuccessofthesocialismwithChinesecharacteristics. Thecontemporarymoraleducationinuniversitiesunderthecontroloftheoverallconcept,inthetarget,shouldfocusontheoverallincreaseofstudents’ideologicalandmoralquality;
intheimplementaryapproach,shouldfocusontheoveralleffectofuniversities’leadingroleandsocialinfluences;
inthepracticalmode,shouldfocusonthecomprehensiveexplorationofavarietyofeducationalresourcesinuniversities.(Shen,2005,p.259)
Asaserviceproviderandeducationalresource,university’slogisticscanmakemuchaccomplishmentinthepracticesof“strengthenmoralityandfoster
talents”.
1.THEBASICCONNOTATIONOF“STRENGTHENINGMORALITYANDFOSTERINGTALENTS”OFUNIVERSITY’SLOGISTICS
Deweysaid,“Therearetwolearningoutcomes,oneistomakeconsciouseffortstolearnknowledge;
theotheristolearnknowledgeunconsciously,toobtainideals,emotions,interests,andvolitionthroughcommunicationsandevaluations.”(Zhao,etal.,1981)University’slogisticservicesprovidestudentsmorewithunconsciouslylearnedknowledge,whichisanimportantknowledgesourceforstudents’ideologicalandmoralformation.Underthenewhistoricalconditions,theworld,thecountry,andthePartyhaveundergoneprofoundchanges.Inthebackgroundofculturaldiversity,informationsocialization,interestdiversity,socialclassdifferentiationandsoon,people’smindsbecomepluralisticanddiverse.University’spracticesoffosteringtalentsarefacingseriouschallenges.ThePartyandthestateproposeto“takestrengtheningmoralityandfosteringtalentsasthefundamentaltaskofeducation,”whichishighlytargetedontheera.Asthebasestotraintalentsofnationalundertakings,universitiesshouldconsciouslytake“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”asthefundamentaltask,adheretothedevelopmentofabilityandmorality,giveprioritytomorality,undertaketotrainuniversitystudentstobesocialistqualifiedbuildersandreliablesuccessors.“Qualified”requires“morality”tobefirstlyqualified,and“reliable”requires“morality”tobefirstlyreliable.Strengtheningmoralityisthebasisandpremise,fosteringtalentsisthegoalandterminal.Theprocesstostrengthenmoralityistheprocesstofostertalents,thebasicrequirementoffosteringtalentsistofirstlystrengthenmorality.SinceNovember1999thesocializationreformofuniversity’slogisticsofficiallylaunched,theservicecapacityandlevelofuniversity’slogisticshavebeeneffectivelyimproved.University’slogisticshassticktothemissionofservingandeducationpeople,promotedthedevelopmentofhighereducationin16yearsofcontinuousexplorations,madeapositivecontributiontotheleapofdevelopmentofhighereducation,popularizationofhighereducation,andtalentdevelopmentforthesocialistmodernizationwithChinesecharacteristics.Today,when“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”hasbecomethefundamentaltaskofhighereducation,university’slogisticpeopleshoulddeeplyunderstandtheextremelyimportantroleof“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”inthenationaltalentstrategysoastoenhancethesenseofhistoricalmissionandresponsibility,andconsciouslytakethepracticeof“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”asthethemeofservingandeducatingpeople.Thespecificrequirementistoalwayshighlyholdthebannerofservingandeducatingpeople,takemeetingtheneedsofstudents’growthasthesurvivalbaseoflogisticpeople,takeenhancingtheservicecapabilityandstandardastherigidrequirementtologisticpeople,takebuildingabeautifulandharmoniouscampusastheimageoflogisticpeople,andrealizethevalueoflogisticpeopleinthepracticeof“strengthenmoralityandfosterpeople”.Asanimportantfieldofthepracticeof“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”,university’slogisticserviceshaveagloriousandsignificantmission.Onlywhentheyfocusonthefundamentaltaskofservingandeducatingpeople,strengthenteambuilding,teamtrainingandconceptpromotion,identifypracticecarriersandstrengtheninteractionswithstudents,theycanmakeadifferenceinintheprocessof“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”,andachievethefundamentalpurposeofservingandeducatingpeople. Asthesubjectofservingandeducatingpeople,university’slogisticsshouldfirstlystrengthenmoralityitself.Fromthecomponentofmorality,itisthegenerictermofpoliticalideology,moralityandpersonalpsychologicalquality.Theparticularityoflogisticworkforce’sstructuredecidesthehierarchyof“morality”.Theoverallcomprehensivequalityofuniversity’slogisticstaffisrelativelylower,particularlytheloweroveralleducationallevels.Theworkcontainsnohightechnologies,isatalowerlevelinthesociallabordivision,andisinasecondarypositioninuniversitywork.Undeniably,thequalityofuniversitylogisticservicesdoesaffectuniversitystudents’growth.Becauseofthis,university’slogisticsmustnotgiveuptheresponsibility,orrefusetohonor.Onlywhentheysticktothefundamentaltaskofservingandeducatingpeople,university’slogisticteamscankeeparightdirectionandhavealastingpowerintheworkof“strengthenmorality”.
2.THEPRACTICALVALUEOF“STRENGTHENMORALITYANDFOSTERTALENTS”OFUNIVERSITY’SLOGISTICS
Theessenceofeducationistoeducatepeople,andintheageofhighereducationitsrequirementistheprocessof“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”.TheFrenchphilosopherLeonRobinonceclearlypointedout,“themoralreflectionwhichpeopleoriginallyconductisthemostprofoundanddirectrequirementinpubliclife.”(Luoetal.,1985,p.42)University’slogisticalservicesarethebasiccomponentofthepubliclifewhichuniversitystudentsdirectlycontactwith,andplayanimportantroleofunconsciousinfluenceinuniversitystudents’moraleducation.Astheimportantcomponentofaninvisibleideologicalandpoliticaleducation,university’slogisticserviceshavepermeability,aliveness,opennessandlatency,whichenablethemtooccupyanirreplaceableplaceintheideologicalandpoliticaleducationsystem,andtoplayauniquerole.University’slogisticsisanimportantparticipantto“strengthenmoralityandfostertalents”.Itsinvolvementistoprovidehighqualityofservicesforthegrowthandsuccessofuniversitystudents,andtoachievethegoalofservingandeducatingpeopleintheserviceprocess.Asanimportantpartof“strengtheningmoralityandfosteringtalents”,university’slogisticservicesplayfunctionsinfundamentalguarantee,demonstration,motivationandqualityenhancement,etc.,havinganimportantanduniquepracticalvalue.Firstly,theyprovidebasicsupportsintermsofdiet,apartment,property,energyandhealthcare,etc.foruniversitystudents’learningandlife,sothatthestudentscanlearnandliveinaconvenient,comfortable,cleanandtidycampustorelaxandconcentrateontheirstudies.Marxoncesaidthatagoodmoodisbetterthan10goodmedicin
