Earlierstudieshaveshownthatpeoplewearingheadphonesortalkingonphonescansuffer“inattentionalblindness”whichmakesthemisolated(孤立)fromtheworldaroundthem.

Inthisstudy,researchersexaminedwhetherexposuretoviolencecouldmakechildren’stelomeresshortenfasterthannormal.Theyinterviewedthemothersof236childrenatages5,7and10,askingwhethertheyoungstershadbeenexposedtodomesticviolencebetweenthemotherandherpartner;
physicalmaltreatmentbyanadult;
