INTRODUCTION
Oneofthedefectsofadieselvehicle,whichhasfuelandeconomicalefficiency,isidlingvibrationforavehiclebody.Inadieselengine,sharppressurerisecausedbythegenerationofthethermalenergyaffectsthepistons.Inthecranksystem,whichconvertsthelinearmotionintotherotarymotion,twotypesofreactionforcesexcitetheengineblock:
thereactioncausedbythealternationofthevelocityvectorineachmovingparts,andbythenon-uniformrotarymotiongeneratedbythefinitenumberofcylinders.Theforcestransmittoanengineblock,anenginefoot,arubberenginemount,aframe,arubbercab-mount,andthenavehiclebody,whichmakeoccupantsuncomfortable.
Theidlingvibrationforlarge-sizedcommercialvehicleswasestimatedattheearlydevelopmentstage,andthemeasuresagainstthevibrationweretakenbysimulatingtheengineexcitingforceswithSouma‘smethod,andenteringthemtoavehiclemodel.
Inthispaper,theidlingvibrationwasdeterminedbyenteringtheengineexcitingforcestothevehiclemodel,whichwasmadeofthefiniteelementoftheframeandthebodyforasmall-sizedrecreationalvehicle(RV).Alsointhispaper,howthenaturalmodesfortheframechangesinthevehicleconditionisanalyzed,anditwasindicatedthatthenaturalfrequencyofthefirst-orderverticalbendingfortheframehadasignificanteffect.
ANALYSISOFTHEVEHICLEBODYVIBRATION
Thedetaildesignprocessofadoublewish-bonesuspensionisdescribed.Thissuspensionisdesignedforpassenger’scomfortandridewithintheacceptablestrength.Criterionsarediscussedforsuchpurpose.Numericalmethodsareusedinselectingthebasicgeometryparametersforsteeringandsuspensionparts.Theprocessofdesignandcheckthesectionoftwoarmsisdescribed,whichisdesignthesuspensionaccordingtomaximperpendicularforceandlateralforceandcheckitaccordingtothemaximperpendicularforceandverticalforce.Andotherconsiderationandcomponentsofthesuspensionismentioned.Atlast,twokindsofdrawings,partdrawingandassemblydrawing,forthesuspensionsystemisdescribed.
Theroleofavehiclesuspensionistoprovidegoodrideandhandlingperformance;
toensurethatsteeringcontrolismaintainedduringmaneuvering;
toensurethatthevehiclerespondsfavorabletocontrolforces;
andtoprovideisolationfromhighfrequencyvibrationarisingfromtyreexcitation[1,2].
Comforthasbecominganincreasinglyimportantfeaturefornowadaysvehicles.Sothestrategyforthissuspensionisalsocomfort.Doublewish-bonesuspensionisnowwidelyusedinthehigh-classvehicles,suchasBMWX5,BenzM-Class,AudiQ7,etc.Butcomfortisnotexclusivetoexpensivevehicles.Withthesteadydecreasingofcarprice,doublewish-bonesuspensionwillbeseenonmoreandmorefamilycarsinthefuture.Sincethedoublewish-bonesuspensionisinfluencedbyseveraldifferentparts,thesuccessisgainedbythecarefulbalanceoftheseparameters.
Nomatterwhattypeofthevehicle,themainpartsofadoublewish-bonesuspensionsystemarealike,whichconsistsofanupperarmAB,alowerarmCD,aswivelpinBC,aspring,adamperandawheel.Sincethesteeringsysteminfluencesthesuspensionsystem,itisalsoconsidered.ThesteeringsystemhasbeenabstractedtoarackEE’,tierodEF,andsteeringarmFG[2,3].AlltheseareshowninFigure1.
IDENTIFICATIONOFTHEENGINEEXCITINGFORCE
Therearethreepathsfortheenginetoexcitevibrationtoavehiclebody:
throughanenginemount,adrivingsystem,andatailpipe.Inthispaper,thepaththroughanenginemount,whichhasagreatesteffect,isstudied.Thevarioustypesofmethodstoidentifytheexcitingforcethroughanenginemountareknown.Inthispaper,Souma’smethodisused.
OUTLINEOFSOUMA’SMETHOD
Thecauseoftheexcitingforcetoanengineblockinthecontroversialfrequencydomainoftheidlingvibrationisconsidered.First,thecombustionpressurethatactsonthepistonsisconsideredtocausethevibration.However,assumingthatapistoncrankshaftdoesnotmovewithaflywheelandanengineblockfixedinsomeway,theenginecomponentsaresupposedtobecompletelyrigidinthisfrequencydomain.Inthissituation,
