@#@@#@Thispaperconsidersthedesignofbuildingsforfiresafety.Itisfoundthatfireandtheassoci-atedeffectsonbuildingsissignificantlydifferenttootherformsofloadingsuchasgravityliveloads,windandearthquakesandtheirrespectiveeffectsonthebuildingstructure.Fireeventsarederivedfromthehumanactivitieswithinbuildingsorfromthemalfunctionofmechanicalandelectricalequipmentprovidedwithinbuildingstoachieveaserviceableenvironment.Itisthereforepossibletodirectlyinfluencetherateoffirestartswithinbuildingsbychanginghumanbehaviour,improvedmaintenanceandimproveddesignofmechanicalandelectricalsystems.Furthermore,shouldafiredevelops,itispossibletodirectlyinfluencetheresultingfireseveritybytheincorporationoffiresafetysystemssuchassprinklersandtoprovidemeasureswithinthebuildingtoenablesaferegressfromthebuilding.Theabilitytoinfluencetherateoffirestartsandtheresultingfireseverityisuniquetotheconsiderationoffirewithinbuildingssinceotherloadssuchaswindandearthquakesaredirectlyafunctionofnature.Thepossibleapproachesfordesigningabuildingforfiresafetyarepresentedusinganexampleofamulti-storeybuildingconstructedoverarailwayline.Thedesignofboththetransferstructuresupportingthebuildingovertherailwayandthelevelsabovethetransferstructureareconsideredinthecontextofcurrentregulatoryrequirements.Theprinciplesandassumptionsassoci-atedwithvariousapproachesarediscussed.@#@外文文献:
