Abstract
Traditionalteachingmethodhasbeenunabletomeettheneedsofmodernsociety.Student-centeredteachingmethodprovidesnewideasandindicateanewdirectionforEnglishteachingreform.Itemphasizesthecentralpositionofthelearnersinthelanguagelearningprocess.ItmakesEnglishteachingcanlaunchaseriesofeducationalactivitiesfocusingonhowtocreateamoreconducivelearningenvironmentforlearners,howtobetterimprovelearningefficiencyandhowtohelpstudentsovercomethedifficultiesintheirstudylife.

Introduction
Foralongtime,thetraditionalEnglishteachingmethodisbasedontheTeacher-centered.Teachersaretheleadingroleofclassroomteaching.ThistraditionalEnglishteachingmethodmakesstudentsbecomeapassiverecipientofthelanguageknowledge.Itkilledthestudents’enthusiasmandcreativity.Studentsoftenonlyhaveknowledgeofthelanguage,butnothavetheabilitytouselanguagewell.Whatthestudentslearnedis“dumbEnglish”.ThistraditionalEnglishteachingmethodcontrarytothepurposeoflearningaforeignlanguage,whichislanguagecommunicativeability.
TheTeacher-centeredtraditionalEnglishteachingmethodisnotonlyconducivetofullymobilizethestudents’enthusiasm,initiativeandcreativity,butalsonotabletoimprovestudentsabilitytolearnandpractice.Therefore,theStudent-centeredmodernEnglishteachingmethodsmustbeestablished.

ThetraditionalTeacher-centeredEnglishteachingmethodcanbedividedintothreecategories:
theshort-termbehaviorteachingmode,thegrammarteachingmode,the“teachertalk”teachingmode.
1.1.1Short-termbehaviorteachingmode
CurrentlythereisabadphenomenonforstudentstostudyEnglish,whichistheyjuststudyEnglishforpassingthetest.ThetraditionalEnglishteachingmethodmainlyemphasizetheexam-orientededucationasaprerequisite.Englishteachingneedstudentsshouldlisten,speak,read,writeandtranslate.However,duringtheshort-termteachingmode,studentscannotreallymakefulluseofEnglishindailylife.
1.1.2Grammarteachingmode
GrammarteachingmodewasfirstintroducedinGermany,butfinallyitwasreplacedinEuropebecauseofmeaningless.However,inourcountry“Grammarteachingmode”isstillwidelyapplied.Grammarteachingmodeisagrammar-based,languages-neglectedteachingmode.Itexcessivelyemphasizesongrammarrules,whileignoringtheimportanceofcommunicationandmisunderstandingthenatureoflanguage.
1.1.3“Teachertalk”teachingmode
“Teachertalk”teachingmodeisjustthe“cramming”teaching.Intheclassroom,theteachersjusttalk,speakandteachalone,whilestudentsareignoredatall.
1.2DrawbacksofthetraditionalTeacher-centeredEnglishteachingmethod
1.2.1PassiveLearningmethods
StudentslosetheirinitiativetostudyEnglish,theyjustacceptnewknowledgepassively.
Oneoftheobviouslycharacteristicsofthetraditional.Theteachingmethodisaunilateralindoctrination.Inthetraditionalteachingmethod,theteacherisontheabsolutepositionofauthority.Andtherefore,inthelearninglife,thosestudentswhojustonthepassivesituationonlytodowhatteachersaskandtolistenwhatteachersspeak.Sointhetraditionalteachingmethods,studentsdonothavetheirownsubjectivecreativityandthinkingskillsatall.[1]Needlesstosay,ontheirowninitiativetoselectlearningcontent,learningtimeorabouteverything,studentsjustlistentotheteacher’sexplanationsandgraduallylosetheirownspiritofinitiativeandtheabilitytolearn.Finallystudentsbecomeanobedient“goodboy”.Studentshavetofacevariousdisciplinesandlearningrequirementsfromtheirteachers.Sothestudentsjustlikeamachine,todothecompletionofavarietyofarduoustaskoflearning.Students’learninglifeisveryboringandtheirlearningefficiencyisverylowbecauseofthepassivelearningmethod.

Blindreading,resultinginstudentsappearthephenomenonof“Highscores,lowcapacity”.Lackofcreativityandinnovativethinkingability.
Becauseoftheblindlearningmethods,studentsgraduallylosetheabilitytocreateandtoexploreandfinallydevelopthehabitofacceptingtheexistingknowledgeandexperiencewithoutanysubjectivethinking.Thosestudentsarealljustwaitingforthebooks,teachers,orsomeoneelsetocreatenewcognitiveexperienceforthem.Theyneitherwillingnorabletoexploreatallandtheycannotuseexistingknowledgetosolvepracticalproblems.[2]Theybelievethatwhatteacherssayisalwaysright,theknowledgeofthebookisalwaysright.“blindlearningmethods”makesstudentslosetheirabilityofbeingquestioned.Whethertheknowledgeisrightorwrong,studentsarefullyacceptwithoutanythinking.Becauseofthis,manystudentsregardtheremedialclassesorcompetitionclassesasaquickmagic.Infact,thisisjustreflecttheircharacteristicsaboutthe“blindlearningmethods”.
1.2.3Closedlearningmethods
One-waytransmissionfromteacherstostudentsledtoalackofcommunicationbetweenthem.
