TestingofEnglishasaForeignLanguage(TOEFL)isanadmissions(入学)testforinternationalstudentsenrollinginAmericanuniversities.Gallowaysaidstudents’scoresdecreasedwhentheyspentlesstimewithAmericanstudents.Morethan450internationalstudentsareoncampusatMurrayStateUniversity.Thailand,Japan,SouthKorea,ChinaandGermanyarethecountrieswiththemoststudentsthissemester,accordingtoanIISreport.

Atpresent,overhalfthepopulationofMauritiusinHinduandanotherfifthisMuslim(穆斯林).Bothgroupsaredescendants(后裔)fromworkersbroughttotheislandfromIndiabytheBritish.SomeChinesewerealsobroughtovertowork.TherearealsodescendantsofAfricanslavesandFrancoMauritians,theoriginalsettlersoftheisland.
