比较occur,happen,takeplace,breakout
(1)occur属于正式用语,可指偶然地“发生”,也可指在指定的时间“发生,出现”。
在以具体事物、事件作主语时,可与happen互换使用;表示在脑海中出现某种想法时用occur,则不能用happen。
(2)happen是表示“发生”的最普通用词,它一般指意外事件的发生。
(3)takeplace意思是“发生”,多指有目的、有步骤地发生,因此多指变化、进步等。
(4)breakout多指战争、地震、火山、火灾的突然发生。

VI句型冲关
Theycandestroyhouses,butleave_the_furniture_insideexactlywhereitwas.
它们(龙卷风)能够毁坏房子,但是房子里面的家具却留在原地。
leavethefurnitureinside...为“leave+sth.+宾补”结构,此时leave作使役动词,表示“使(让)……保持某种状态”,常跟复合宾语,即“leave+宾语+宾语补足语”。
(1)用形容词作宾语补足语
①Leavethedooropenwhenyougoout.出去时,不要关门。
(2)用不定式作宾语补足语
②Theykilledthebison,strippedofftheskinsandleftthebodies.他们杀死野牛,将其皮剥掉,留下尸体任其腐烂。
(3)用现在分词作宾语补足语
③Hewentout,leavinghispapersopenonthedesk.
他出去了,把他的文件摊在桌子上。
(4)用过去分词作宾语补足语
④Didyouthedoorsandwindowsproperly?
你把门窗关好了吗
(5)还可用名词、介词短语等作宾语补足语
